okay, excitement aside and realness present, we have a very important thing to discuss. do you think that their song "greatest hits", off of their album "greatest hits", has twilight-esque vibes or inspiration behind it?? 'cause we do.
we know it sounds strange. how can a multi-genre (however, specifically, rock/alternative/electronic-pop based) band mix with that cult-fanbased, half loved, half hated, many times cheesy romance with vampires?? however were in the 2020s and, using bella's words and not our's, things started getting strange.
now, whether you are team jacob, team edward, or a hard core double dare fan and not a greatest hits fan (for some reason), all this does not factor into this discussion. so, we can all be friends, okay. preferences and biases do not exist here, because they do not change the fact that at precisely 1:05 in the song ("greatest hits") we are instantly hit with vampires-running-in-the-woods-oh-no-bella-is-in-danger-james-is-after-her feels. at the moment, we are not professional music people, therefore forgive us for our lame-a$$ lingo, as we act like we know, but....it may be the way that the new beats drop in or the way that they pick up the pace in the song, but those twilight impressions are there. 100%
and for people that spent there cringey middle school years just watching twilight, new moon, and lord of the rings every night on repeat, we think we know one when we see - or in this case hear - one. (and yes, seriously, no joke, we only watched those three movies during middle school. and, no, we don't know how we didn't get tried of just watching those three??)
now, before we go, just one more comment. don't you think, at least in the photo below, the waterparks look like and could make a d@mn scary volturi.
like otto (the thot with long hair on the left) would be the older 'not without cause' guy aka marcus, awsten (the man in the middle with the volturi-looking glasses) would be creepy michael sheen aka aro, and geoff (the nice dad on the right) would be that blonde volturi member aka caius. and just for kicks in giggles, felony steve could be dakota fanning aka jane aka the real bad b!tch. OR MAYBE THAT IS TRAVIS. LOL.
now we're just going off on waterparks-fan-knowledge-stuff. don't feel like you were supposed to know what we just said with felony steve or travis. but we are glad we can be on the same page about how the song "greatest hits" sounds twilight-esque. 'cause it SO does!!
